Grahns: Hand-crafted Swedish candy from Skövde — a 75-year tradition.

May 03, 2026 · TheSweetsTruck team

Grahns Konfektyr started in 1949 when Philip Grahn began making caramels and lollipops in his home kitchen in Skövde, then travelled around Skaraborg County selling them at markets. Three generations later, Grahns is one of Sweden's most respected mid-size candy manufacturers — about 70 employees, ~4,400 tonnes of production a year.

The story

Grahns has one of the better stories in Swedish confectionery: in 2007 the founder's family sold the business to Jesper Lööw and Ola Brewitz, two production employees with 10+ years inside the company. That's an unusual succession path, and it's part of why Grahns has kept its mid-size, hand-crafted feel rather than getting absorbed into a multinational portfolio.

Signature products

  • Sura Hallonshots (Sour Raspberry Shots) — sour raspberry-soda jelly bottles
  • Raspberry Twins — pink raspberry-flavoured jellies
  • Punsch pralines and Punsch cones
  • Hockey powder
  • Fillidutter

Flavour profile and audience

Sour, fruity, jelly-textured, traditional Swedish profiles. Specialty in sour shots. Mid-market quality, nostalgic Swedish confectionery.

Where Grahns fits in the wider candy world

Grahns is food-safety certified and produces for both branded and private-label channels. On a Swedish lösgodis wall, the Sura Hallonshots are usually somewhere near BUBS Sour Skulls — different texture (jelly vs foam), similar punch.

Where to start

Sura Hallonshots — the brand's calling card and a great pairing with cola candy.
