Quick answer

Retailers buy BUBS from us by the case, either large bulk cases of roughly 2.6 kg to 3.2 kg for scoop walls or cases of twelve 90 g bags for shelf sales. We import direct and ship DDP from California, list pricing is public, wholesale accounts approve automatically, and there is no order minimum.

We ran candy shops in Sweden before we started importing, so we have stocked BUBS from both sides of the counter. It is the deepest brand in our catalog at twelve items, and it is usually the easiest brand for a new account to justify. Here is how buying it by the case actually works.

Why BUBS is a low-risk first case

Most imported candy asks a retailer to create demand. BUBS does not. People search for it by brand name, they arrive knowing what a BUBS skull looks like, and they ask store staff for it directly. When you stock it you are capturing demand that already exists in your market rather than educating shoppers from zero.

The second reason is texture. The foam-and-chew layering is not something a US supplier can sell you, so BUBS does not cannibalize your existing gummy or chocolate sets. It adds a category. Our complete BUBS guide explains the product itself if you are new to the brand.

The two case formats

Bulk cases (2.6 kg to 3.2 kg). These are the scoop-wall and bin cases. One case fills a bin, holds up well in a self-serve set, and gives you the best cost per pound. If you run pick and mix, this is your format. Our guide to running a pick and mix covers the mechanics.

90 g bags, twelve per case. These are the packaged retail format Swedes buy. They work on a shelf, at a register, in a gift basket, and in any store that cannot run a scoop wall. They also let you test BUBS with a small footprint before you commit bin space.

Most of our accounts eventually run both: bulk in the wall, bags at the register.

Which BUBS SKUs actually move

This is our own order history rather than a manufacturer's pitch. Across our accounts, the ranking has been consistent:

  1. BUBS Wild Strawberry Pomegranate (2.8 kg case). Our number one BUBS item by a clear margin, and the one to buy if you only buy one.
  2. Bubs Tutti Frutti (2.6 kg case). Mixed fruit, broad appeal, very few people bounce off it.
  3. BUBS Bubbelgum Skulls (2.6 kg case). The bubblegum center makes this the kid and teen pick.
  4. Bubs Lemon/Raspberry Skulls (3.2 kg case). The biggest case we carry from BUBS and the classic skull.
  5. BUBS Banana (2.8 kg case). A Swedish staple flavor that reads as novel in the US.
  6. BUBS Cool Fruity Pear (2.6 kg case). The cooling note gives your wall a flavor nobody else has.
  7. Bubs Cola Skulls. Cola is the safest flavor in Europe and it converts skeptics.

If you want a starter set, three or four cases across fruit, skull, and bubblegum covers the flavor spread most walls need. Add the 90 g bags once you know which flavors your market pulls toward. All four skull formats are compared in BUBS skulls explained.

How the margin math works

We publish Tier 1 list pricing publicly on the catalog, which means you can run your own numbers before you ever talk to us. That is deliberate. You should not have to fill in a form to find out whether a category works for your store.

The math to run:

  • Cost per pound landed. Take the case price and divide by the case weight. Because we import direct rather than buying from a US distributor, this is the number that usually surprises people.
  • Your retail per pound or per bag. Scoop walls price per pound or per scoop. Packaged bags price per unit. Both are your call.
  • Shrink and yield. Foam and chew candy holds up well in a bin, but a scoop wall always carries some shrink. Budget for it.
  • Turn rate, not just margin. A slightly thinner margin on a case that sells out in three weeks beats a fat margin on a case that sits.

We walk through the full method, including how to set scoop-wall pricing, in Swedish candy profit margins for retailers.

Ordering: how it works with us

  • No order minimum. Order by the case, mix and match across brands and formats. One case is a valid order.
  • Automatic approval. Wholesale accounts approve automatically when you apply. There is no waiting period and no sales call to sit through.
  • Public Tier 1 pricing for everyone. Approved volume and strategic buyers move to Tier 2 and Tier 3 pricing.
  • Import-direct, DDP. We land the product with US labels and duties already paid, so case prices come in under most US distributors and there is nothing for you to clear. Canadian accounts are delivered duty paid too.
  • Ships from California. Stock ships domestically from our Santa Fe Springs warehouse via UPS Ground, UPS Express, or UPS Ground Saver.
  • Pallet freight on larger orders. Orders over $2,000 can move on pallet freight, agreed by email.
  • NET payment terms for selected partners, based on order history. Terms are available to selected partners rather than automatically to every account.

If you are weighing an importer against a distributor, we broke the difference down in candy distributor vs importer, and the vocabulary is in wholesale candy terms.

Dietary flags for your shelf talkers

Eleven of the twelve BUBS items we carry are flagged gelatin-free and vegan, which is a genuine selling point in the US where most gummy candy is not. We do not have ingredient data on file for Bubs Sour Skull 90g, so we publish no dietary claim on it and neither should your shelf talker. The line-by-line detail is in are BUBS vegan and gelatin-free.

Getting this right matters more than it sounds. A vegan shopper who finds an accurate flag on your wall comes back.
