Strawberry candy is candy flavored like strawberry, so the real choice is texture. The European strawberry candy on this page comes as soft foam strawberries and ovals, strawberry marshmallows, sugar cubes, sour gummies and chews, and chewy strawberry rolls. Choose foam or sugar cubes for gentle sweetness, a sour gummy for tartness, and a roll for chew.

What are strawberry bon bons?
Strawberry bon bons are twist-wrapped hard candies with a strawberry design on the wrapper and a gooey strawberry center, the kind that filled grandparents' candy dishes, as MEL Magazine explored in 2020. Its reporting, with two candy historians, could not pin down an inventor, and historian Susan Benjamin guessed they came about during the candy boom of the late 1930s. The name is older: English has used bonbon since 1796, from a French word that doubles bon, "good" (Etymonline).
We do not import strawberry bon bons. They are hard candy, and everything below is soft, chewy or foam. If what you miss is the sweet strawberry flavor rather than the hard shell, start with the foam strawberries or the sugar cubes.

Chewy rolls and foam ovals: sweet
- Vidal Strawberry Rolls: a strawberry roll that our product description calls soft, chewy and sweet, with wheat flour and carmine among the listed ingredients. Sweet rather than sour. Tags as listed: none. A 6.6 lb (3 kg) case.
- BUBS Wild Strawberry Pomegranate: a BUBS foam oval. On its Swedish site, BUBS calls it Wild Berry Pomegranate OVALS and describes a foam candy that tastes sweet but fresh. Tags as listed: gelatin-free, halal, vegan. A 6.17 lb (2.8 kg) case.

- For shoppers who avoid carmine: carmine (E120) is a color additive derived from an insect, and US ingredient lists must name it as carmine or cochineal extract.
